Here is a basic overview of some of the UI changes we've recently made:
Rerouting
We want users to have a consistent experience when navigating to Kuali Build documents from either an email or app url. We also want users to be automatically redirected back to Kuali Build once an action is taken or give them the option to easily exit the document and go back to Kuali Build. Currently when you click on the ‘Begin Review’ from the system generated emails it will open the document in a separate browser window. With this update it will open the document in a modal over the user’s Action List instead of in its own browser tab. Similarly, when initiating a new draft from the share form link, the document will open in a modal over My Documents instead of in a new tab. Once an action is taken or they close the modal it will return the user to either their Action List or My Documents accordingly. Below outlines what it looks like currently and how it will look after this update:
Also, if you have any post submission options enabled they will appear within the form field section of the form after a draft is submitted from My Documents.
Please note, anonymous app links will still open in their own browser tab and not as a separate modal since they are accessing the form anonymously and not as a user in the system.
Branding
Branding will now appear on every form in the system again (including anonymous forms) with the configured logo and colors appearing at the top of the form container. Below outlines what it looks like currently and how it will look after this update:
The logo will now be contained within the color bar at the top of the white section on the form. Because of this, you will need to be careful how large you make your logo. If you make it too big (past 100) it will be larger than the color bar. Depending on your logo it should look right in the color bar with a size anywhere from 30-60 px. We encourage your space admins to review your branding to make sure you don’t have any logos bigger than 100 px and review all logos after the release to ensure the sizing looks right. By default when uploading a logo it will default to 40 height but that can be adjusted as desired.
Form Setting Changes
Form settings have been reorganized with sections so admins can find options more easily - below outlines the before and after with these updates:
