Ability to Hide Workflow Details from Reviewers
By default, all reviewers in an app's workflow are able to view workflow details - including prior/future workflow steps and any comments added. For some apps, it may not be desired for workflow reviewers to see this information and now administrators have the capability to toggle off the workflow status display for the entire app or on a per step basis as desired.
How Do I Disable Workflow Status Display for the Entire Workflow?
Access the Workflow Settings option in the upper right of the Workflow tab and enable the Disallow Reviewers to View Workflow Status Page option:
What Steps will the Workflow Settings Impact?
The Disallow Reviewers to View Workflow Status Page setting will impact all Approval and Task steps.
Can I Disable Workflow Status Display For Just One Step?
Yes. Each step will have it's own settings to disallow workflow status display individually. By updating the setting at the step level, you are overriding the workflow setting that was enabled.
The wording of the step will be equivalent to whatever wording was defined at the workflow settings level. (e.g. if "Disallow Reviewers to View Workflow Status Page is disabled then when accessing a workflow step it will say "Disable Workflow Status Page". If the workflow setting is enabled then the setting on the workflow step will say "Enable Workflow Status Page (Override Workflow Settings).
Access the step you would like to configure and disable the appropriate toggle in the step details:
What Happens if I Override a Workflow Setting?
When you override the workflow status display settings on an individual step it will no longer use the settings set up for the workflow. Even if you change the individual step settings back to be the same as the workflow settings it will still not be impacted by changes made to the workflow settings.
How Do I Know if I Have Overridden Step Settings?
If you override step settings it will display a override icon on the step itself, indicating that the settings are not updating based on the workflow settings anymore.
If I Change One of These Settings Will it Impact Document in Progress?
No. These settings will only impact documents submitted to the workflow after the setting has been changed and the workflow is published.
What Settings Will Be Enabled by Default?
When you create a new app this setting will be disabled by default.
Can I Hide the Workflow Details from the Document Submitter if the Document is Returned?
Yes. By default, the initiator will be able to see the workflow information if a document is ever returned since they are now a part of the workflow recipients. If you need to hide workflow information from the initiator in this situation you would need to disable it entirely for the app in the Workflow Settings and then reenable at each workflow step where you still want it displayed.
