What are Build APIs & Integrations?
Kuali has a number of available APIs (Application Programming Interface) that allow access to data in the system. Institutions can build out integrations to and from Kuali Platform using these rest APIs. Basically it's a method to GET, POST, or PUT information to either view, update, or create data in Kuali. Kuali utilizes GraphQL to access Kuali data.
Integrations are a method to build connections in Kuali to other external systems/tools (i.e. HR, Financial, Research, Student, Google Sheet, etc.) to utilize in Kuali forms and workflow. If the local system/tool offers rest APIs you can build integrations in Kuali via System Integrations to pull additional information in a Kuali form. For example, maybe you want to connect to your HR system to pull additional details for a given user selected in a form (like Supervisor, Title, Address, etc.). You can also build integrations that point to Kuali Classic products or to Kuali's Platform APIs.
