Sponsored Proposals

• Create proposals, route them internally for review and approval, track their submission to the sponsor, and capture post-submission activities such as just-in-time and revised budget requests. 
• Create detailed budgets for both requested funds and cost-share. Our budget creator tool makes use of your personnel salary data for named personnel combined with TBD positions and  other direct costs, and with your organizational rates (IDC, fringe benefit, inflation, and more) automatically applied based on rate types and object code configurations for both requested and cost-shared funds.
• Capture data and track activities related to agreement negotiations, whether spo. This module is often also used to track MTAs, NDAs, and other, similar types of agreements
•  Establish a system of record for  award information, including key award data, terms and conditions, and required deliverables.  Track and manage changes in anticipated and obligated award amounts over the life of an award, track account distributions, non-financial updates, and keep sponsor and internal award documents in a single location. 
• Record data and documentation related to outgoing subawards and link subaward records to the associated award. Manage subaward invoices.

Internal Opportunities:

Establish and promote internal proposal opportunities and limited submission competitions, manage applications to those competitions, and distribute to review panels for selection and/or funding decisions.

Conflict Management:

Allow researchers to disclose their financial interests, outside professional activities, project sponsors, types of research, and completed training. Connect sponsored projects that are also captured in Kuali for easy access during review.  Broader your data capture beyond researcher financial conflict of interest to capture disclosure of faculty and staff outside professional activityTrack data related to faculty and staff outside professional activities as part of a single process that can also include researcher financial conflict of interest.

Human Ethics Review:

Collect, review, approve, and monitor research protocols to assess the risks and benefits of research involving the rights and welfare of human research participants.

Animal Ethics Review:

Oversee the ethical treatment and use of animals in research through collection and review of protocols, including information about animal care, housing, handling, and experimental procedures, to ensure appropriate animal welfare and minimize pain and distress

Biosafety Review:

Request and monitor information to help ensure adherence to biosafety guidelines, regulations, and containment practices. Example research might include genetic engineering experiments, work with pathogens, and research involving genetically modified organisms.

Export Controls:

Track data and obtain organizational approvals related to export controlled projects including visa requests for international personnel and visitors, foreign travel requests, and more. Integrate export control projects with pre- and post-award data, protocols, and conflict management records. Create Technology Control Plans and route through internal workflow to obtain approvals and notify the relevant parties. Record and route event reports for the review of processes such as International Shipping, Property controlled by FAR clauses, and transfer export control activity under ITAR.
