Within the Forms tab of a form you'll see the Download Outline option:
This option allows you to download a complete, review-ready outline of your form directly from the Form Designer (either the saved Draft or Published version). This makes it much easier to gather feedback during development and share full specifications with stakeholders or regulators.
Upon clicking the Download Outline it will give you the below options to download either the save Draft or Published version of the form:
Once you choose the desired option it will generate an Excel file that includes:
- A table of contents listing every top-level section, page, or gadget
- A dedicated worksheet for each section with key functional details
- Clear outline numbering that shows how gadgets are nested within sections, tables, and repeaters
Whether you're collaborating on changes or preparing formal documentation, you now have a clear, human-readable view of your entire form.
Note: The outline number begins the count at the top of every section with 1 applying to the top level section. Then every time there is another container the outlining indents. So the first gadget in the top level section will be 1.1. If the second gadget in a top level section is a repeater then the third gadget in that repeater would be 1.2.3. Also, the Settings column will look different based on what type of gadget it's showing settings for; anything that isn't universal across several gadgets is stored in settings.
