Create a New User
Users can be added to Kuali manually or through the API by system administrators. This guide walks you through how to create and manage users manually through the UI.
- Click on the Suite Menu icon (), then navigate to People & Groups.
- In the menu across the top, select People and then click the + Add Person button.
- In the form that appears, enter the information for the new user, and then click Save.
The above user attributes can also be shared via your configured SSO so they update on login. More information can be found in the Configuring your SSO (single sign-on) with Kuali article.
This is explained further in the Configuring your SSO (single sign-on) with Kuali article.
If you currently use SSO for your users to log in, and you are creating a Basic Auth login for non-SSO users (perhaps people outside of your institution), you will need to add /auth/kuali
to the end of the URL you are giving them access to. For example, https://school.kualibuild.com/auth/kuali
Once a user has been created, you can change their status to active or inactive by returning to their profile page and clicking activate or deactivate, as well as create API Keys, if needed.
Searching & Managing Existing Users
You can easily search for specific users from the People menu to view or edit as needed.
- Click on the Suite Menu icon (), then navigate to People & Groups.
- In the menu across the top, select People.
- Just above the list of users will be a search bar. This can be used to search for users by name, email, etc; as well as filtering the list based on active status, adjust the information that displays, or sort the list.
- Once you find the desired user click on the row to view the desired user profile
- Within the User profile you'll have the below tabs and the ability to edit or deactivate the user
- General Details - identifying information for the user (name, email, username, etc)
- API Keys - any generated API Keys for the user
- History - a log of changes for the given user
