In the System Menu system administrators will have the Spaces & Settings option which gives them access to set overall system configuration. This includes configuring Spaces, Permissions, and Private Data which is further explained below.
Spaces
The Spaces tab (only available for enterprise license Kuali customers) - customers without an enterprise license will have the My Apps and Shared with me sections will be combined into a Home section. A Space is a way to group together the apps for a particular department or group, allows you to distribute the management of everything within a Space so that users can manage the settings for their own apps.
Permissions
The Permissions tab allows system administrators to manage System Permissions for Kuali - setting System Administrators and System Creators.
Private Data
The Private Data tab allows system administrators to enable the Private Data gadget which allows you to securely store and manage sensitive information - such as Social Security numbers, credit card numbers, and driver’s license data - directly within your apps. By default this feature is disabled (set to 'None') but you have the option to enable in 'ALL apps & products' or 'Only SPECIFIC apps & products'.
When you initially enable you will receive the below validation text to confirm you want to continue:
Private Data enables secure capture of sensitive information like SSN, bank accounts, and personal identifiers. Once enabled, ensure only authorized users have access to apps & products containing Private Data fields.
Once enabled and you add a Private Data gadget to a form it will then show in the 'View List' option in the Private Data tab so you can see all apps that utilizes Private Data.
