The administrator permissions are divided into two different categories: System Administrators and System Creators.
System Administrators
Any Users, Groups, or Roles you list under this option will give these individuals all permissions in Kuali. They can create new apps, view and administer any app (including deleting them), manage all permissions, and view the audit log. It is strongly recommended to keep the list of System Administrators as short as possible.
System Creators
This setting allows you to list Users, Groups, or Roles that should have access to create and administer new apps. These users will only have access to edit and administer the apps they have created.
There is also an option to provide All Authenticated Users the ability to create new apps, but generally this option is used sparingly.
Bulk Permissions
While individuals and small groups of people can be given access throughout the system using the Groups and Roles functionality, at times you may find it necessary to give large groups of people (800+) access to certain parts of Kuali. For example, you may want to make a form available for all faculty on campus, but not students. Rather than using the Kuali Group functionality to give these permissions, we recommend using the Affiliations permission option (See Large Group Support (Affiliations) for more information).
